Actor and comedian Alex Duong, known for his appearances on Blue Bloods, has died at the age of 42 following a battle with a rare form of cancer.

A family friend, Hilarie Steele, confirmed to TMZ that Duong passed away early Saturday at St. John's Hospital after suffering septic shock the night before.

Duong had been diagnosed in early 2025 with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive soft-tissue cancer. The illness reportedly began with severe headaches behind his eye and later resulted in vision loss in his left eye. Despite undergoing intensive treatment, including chemotherapy, the disease progressed.

Known within the Los Angeles comedy scene, Duong performed regularly at The Comedy Store and was recognized for both his stand-up work and contributions behind the scenes. His career included appearances on Netflix’s Historical Roast, Jeff Ross Presents Roast Battle, and The OnlyFans Roast of Whitney Cummings. He had also been a member of SAG-AFTRA since 2009.

A GoFundMe campaign initially launched to support his medical treatment is now raising funds for his wife, Cristina, and their five-year-old daughter, Everest. Reports indicate Duong faced significant medical expenses exceeding $400,000 during his illness.

Despite his diagnosis, Duong continued performing and remained active in the comedy community, earning support from fans and fellow comedians. His death has prompted tributes recognizing his resilience, talent, and impact on the stand-up scene.
