Nine held in double murder case

Police claim to have arrested nine suspects allegedly involved in a double murder and the injury of another man.
Officials recovered the vehicle used in the crime along with two motorcycles and multiple firearms, including an 8mm rifle, a 222 bore rifle and a 30 bore pistol with ammunition.
Haripur District Police Officer (DPO) Shafi Ullah Gandapur told a press conference that the incident occurred on March 26 this year within the jurisdiction of City Police Station, on GT Road near Darwesh Balmukabill Madina CNG.
Abdul Razzaq, Iftikhar and Danish were returning from a court hearing in rickshaw No G-2167 in connection with a case registered at Saddar Police Station. As they reached the location, suspects travelling in a carry van (registration LWB-6874) and on motorcycles intercepted the rickshaw.
The accusedidentified as Naqqash Ahmed, Khanwaiz, Sher Dad, Dilzak Khan, Chin Zaid, Sajid Iqbal and Aftab Ahmed alias Mohsinallegedly opened fire using rifles and a 30-bore pistol at the behest of Fayaz Ahmed, Shah Nawaz and Ramzan.
As a result of the firing, Abdul Razzaq and Iftikhar were killed on the spot, while Danish sustained gunshot injuries to his right arm and leg. The assailants fled the scene, abandoning the carry van. A case was registered on the complaint of Waqas under relevant provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code, including 302, 324, 109, 148 and 149.
Police secured the crime scene, seized the vehicle and other evidence and launched district-wide search operations and checkpoints to apprehend the suspects. Subsequently, all nine suspects were arrested.
The weapons used in the crime, along with the carry van and two motorcycles, were also recovered. Further investigation was underway.
