KARACHI:

Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi leader Monem Zafar Khan strongly criticized the repeated closure of educational institutions in Sindh, calling it "educational genocide" that threatens students' futures. He urged the government to abandon policies of shutting schools unnecessarily, increase the education budget, address teachers' challenges, and take concrete steps to ensure quality education.

Speaking at an event organised by Tanzeem-e-Asateza Karachi at Noor Haq Institute, Khan said that the progress of any nation depends on its education system. "Unfortunately, the Sindh government has consistently ignored education. In times of crisis, officials immediately close schools, jeopardizing students' learning and futures," he said. He also criticized government spending on luxury and unnecessary expenses while leaving sensitive sectors like education neglected.

Present at the event were teachers and principals from universities, colleges, and schools - both government and private.
