Veteran journalist Patrick Sunny passes away in Karachi

Employed at The Express Tribune, he was previously at Business Recorder, The Financial Post, and Business Today

Patrick Sunny, a seasoned journalist whose career spanned more than three decades, passed away late Thursday evening in Karachi. He was laid to rest at Gora Graveyard on Friday.

He was employed at The Express Tribune and had previously worked at Business Recorder, The Financial Post, and Business Today. Beyond his career, he was deeply devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a son. 

Born on February 15, 1972, Sunny’s early life was shaped by hard work. From selling newspapers in his youth, he went on to build a career in journalism marked by consistency and dedication. 

Those who knew him recall not only his professional integrity but also his kindness, quiet strength, and strong sense of responsibility as a husband, father, brother and colleague.
