Pakistan has renewed its call for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Ukraine, Radio Pakistan reported on Tuesday.

The call was made by Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN Asim Iftikhar Ahmad while speaking during the Security Council briefing on Ukraine.

The ambassador urged a return to sustained, structured and meaningful negotiations, stressing that there is no military solution and that lasting peace can only be achieved through dialogue grounded in the UN Charter.

A Russian drone attack on Tuesday killed three people in the historic centre of the western city of Lviv.
