'Tuberculosis is curable, timely treatment must'

CM advises immediate medical examination if symptoms appear

Sindh Governor Nihal Hashmi said on Tuesday that tuberculosis is a curable disease, stressing that timely diagnosis and complete treatment are essential for its eradication.

In a special message on World Tuberculosis Day, he said raising public awareness about TB is the need of the hour, adding that a healthy society forms the foundation of sustainable development. He emphasised that a collective effort is required to combat diseases effectively.

The governor said the government is taking coordinated and effective measures to eliminate tuberculosis, urging citizens to adopt preventive precautions and seek immediate consultation from qualified doctors if symptoms appear.

He said World Tuberculosis Day serves as a reminder to unite against the disease, adding that collective awareness, early diagnosis and uninterrupted treatment are key to completely eliminating TB.

CM vows to eliminate TB

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah reaffirmed his government's commitment to eliminating tuberculosis, stressing the need for awareness, timely diagnosis and effective treatment.

In a message issued on World Tuberculosis Day, he said the day is observed annually to raise public awareness about TB and highlight its health, social and economic impacts. He added that tuberculosis is a curable disease, but early detection and proper treatment are necessary.

The chief minister urged citizens to seek immediate medical examination if symptoms appear, adding that the Sindh government is providing free diagnostic and treatment facilities for TB patients.

He also called upon the public to play an active role in spreading awareness, reiterating that the government's goal is to achieve a healthy, TB-free Sindh.
