Young man killed in Shangla road accident

At least one young man lost his life and more than seven people were injured in multiple traffic accidents across Shangla district on the first and second days of Eid.
The incidents occurred in various areas of the district, where deteriorating road conditions, speeding, and challenging mountainous terrain contributed to the mishaps. The deceased youth belonged to the Shahpur area of Shangla.
Rescue teams responded swiftly, providing first aid to the injured and transferring them to District Headquarters Hospital in Alpuri. Two of the injured are reported to be in critical condition and are receiving treatment there.
According to Rescue 1122 sources, personnel remained on high alert throughout the Eid holidays, stationed at key locations to handle emergencies.
They not only evacuated victims to safety promptly but also urged the public to adopt precautionary measures while traveling.
In preparation for potential incidents, Rescue 1122 Shangla conducted drills along the Indus River banks to enhance quick response capabilities and professional skills in emergencies.
Local residents praised the timely actions of rescue workers, noting that delays could have led to greater loss of life. Citizens have called on the government and district administration to urgently repair dilapidated roads, enforce traffic laws strictly, and implement effective preventive measures to avoid such tragic events in the future.
