Chappell Roan has faced criticism following an incident that reportedly left Jude Law’s 11-year-old daughter, Ada, in tears during a hotel stay in São Paulo.
The encounter, described by footballer Jorginho Frello, has prompted debate online about celebrity boundaries and fan interactions.
Jorginho, a former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder now playing for Flamengo, shared details of the situation involving his wife, Catherine Harding, also known as Cat Cavelli, and her daughter with Jude Law. The family were staying at the same hotel as Roan during Lollapalooza Brazil when the incident occurred.

According to Jorginho, Ada was excited to see the singer, whom she admires, and had made a sign earlier that morning. He explained, "My daughter, like any child, recognised her, got excited, and just wanted to make sure it was really her." He added that the child did not approach or speak to the singer, instead returning quietly to the table after smiling.
He continued, "What happened next was completely disproportionate. A large security guard came over to their table while they were still having breakfast and began speaking in an extremely aggressive manner." The guard reportedly accused the child of harassment and threatened to file a complaint with the hotel.
Jorginho said, "Honestly, I don't know at what point simply walking past a table and looking to see if someone is there can be considered harassment." He added that his daughter was "extremely shaken and cried a lot".
The incident has since prompted a wave of online criticism. One user wrote, "Maybe some people just are not meant to be famous and that’s ok". Another commented: "I understand calling out paps, i even defended her with that but this was JUST A KID SMILING, she didn’t deserve it wtf".
Others questioned whether Roan was directly responsible, with one post stating, "Maybe i’m just confused but i have no idea why people are blaming chappell for this… like chappells security guard was the one acting up not her??". Another added, "This girl met chappell 2 days ago and talked about how nice she was… but you all want me to believe chappell sent her guard to a 11 year old girl right".

Footballers sign autographs and take selfies with kids for hours. But musicians are apparently too important for basic human decency. https://t.co/JdgoS73KuI

this girl met chappell 2 days ago and talked about how nice she was and when she asked for a pic a security guard came up to stop her and chappell said “no it’s okay” and they took the pic but you all want me to believe chappell sent her guard to a 11 year old girl right https://t.co/ecCizf1gxy pic.twitter.com/gM9KnwcTQL
Opinion remains divided online, while fans await Roan's response to the situation.
