Former ITV reality star Jordan Wright dies in Thailand at age 33
Jordan Wright, the former reality television star known for appearances on The Only Way Is Essex and MTV's Ex on the Beach, has died at the age of 33.
Wright died in Thailand, with his passing confirmed by ITV and the local foreign office. According to local reports, he was found on March 14 in a concrete drainage system on the Thai island of Phuket. A worker reportedly discovered him face-down in stagnant water.
Police have been called to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death, which remain unclear at this time. Reports indicate a hotel key card was found in his pocket.
"Everyone at TOWIE sends their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Jordan Wright at this very sad time," a spokesman for The Only Way Is Essex told media outlets.
Wright first appeared on television in 2017 when he joined the cast of MTV's Ex on the Beach, a reality dating series that brings former couples together in a beachside setting. He briefly dated Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison during this period.
The following year, Wright made his debut on The Only Way Is Essex, the long-running ITV reality series that follows a group of residents in the town of Brentwood. The show has been on air for more than 15 years and remains one of British television's most popular reality programs.
Wright stepped away from reality television in the early 2020s. His social media activity suggested he had relocated to Thailand several weeks before his death.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident, with no further details released at this time.
