Amazon renews 'Cross' for season 3 with eight episodes as series continues Alex Cross story

Amazon has confirmed that Cross will return for a third season on Prime Video, extending the run of the crime drama based on the novels by James Patterson.
The upcoming season will consist of eight episodes and will continue to follow detective Alex Cross, portrayed by Aldis Hodge. A release date has not yet been announced.
According to the company, the new season will “continue to expand the high-stakes world of the iconic character, building on the show’s gripping storytelling and powerful performances.”
Peter Friedlander, head of global television at Amazon MGM Studios, commented on the renewal, stating: “From the beginning, ‘Cross’ has captivated audiences with its layered characters, pulse-pounding suspense, and emotionally grounded storytelling. Aldis has delivered a definitive portrayal of Alex Cross, anchoring the series with depth, intelligence, and heart. We’re thrilled to continue this journey with Ben, our collaborators at Paramount Television Studios, and the rest of the incredible cast to bring even more of James Patterson’s iconic world to our global Prime Video audience.”
The series has demonstrated strong viewership performance since its debut. Reports indicate that the first season attracted 40 million viewers worldwide in its first 20 days, making it the third-most-watched premiere on the platform in 2025.
