BISP chief promises justice, aid for Rahim Yar Khan families

Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, visited Sheikh Zayed Hospital following the tragic incident a day earlier, where she inquired after the injured women and announced financial assistance for the affected families.

During the visit, Member of Provincial Assembly Sardar Habibur Rehman, the hospital's Medical Superintendent, and BISP officials were also present.

The chairperson met the injured women, checked on their condition, and directed authorities to ensure the provision of the best possible medical facilities and full support.

Speaking to the media, Senator Rubina Khalid said a comprehensive investigation into the incident was underway and strict legal action would be taken against those found responsible.

She added that stipends under BISP are disbursed through partner banks, and in this case, notice had been issued to the concerned bank over alleged negligence, along with the imposition of a penalty.

She announced that the families of the deceased women would receive Rs1 million each, while the injured women would be provided Rs300,000 each as financial assistance.
