New app helps e-bus passengers plan journeys

LAHORE:

Two university students have developed a mobile application designed to help passengers of Punjab's electric bus service access real-time information about routes and schedules, addressing a problem long faced by commuters struggling to find timely updates on bus timings.

The idea for the application came after the developers personally experienced the inconvenience.

Muhammad Ghiyas, one of the developers, recalled waiting at a bus stop for nearly half an hour to travel to his hostel, only to discover that the last electric bus on his route had already departed.

"We wanted to build a system that could provide clear, timely, and accessible information about bus routes and departure timings," Ghiyas said.

The application includes details about bus routes, stops, and schedules. Users can receive notifications if there are changes to a route or timing.
