Dune: Part Three has released its first official images of characters offering an early indication of their development ahead of the trailer launch scheduled for March 17, 2026.
The newly released image of Timothée Chalamet shows a visibly older Paul Atreides, marked by facial scars and a more subdued expression. The portrayal reflects a significant time shift from the previous film, with director Denis Villeneuve ageing the character by approximately 15 to 20 years.
The character’s altered appearance indicates a move away from the earlier depiction of a reluctant hero towards a more complex figure shaped by the outcomes of his actions. The scars and restrained expression point to a leadership burden tied to the large-scale conflict introduced in earlier instalments.
Alongside the first look, Warner Bros. released a series of character posters featuring returning cast members. Zendaya appears again as Chani, while Rebecca Ferguson reprises her role as Lady Jessica. Anya Taylor-Joy joins the cast as Alia Atreides, with Jason Momoa and Robert Pattinson also featured. The imagery across the campaign adopts a darker tone, with each character presented in a more mature and weathered form.
The upcoming trailer is expected to provide further insight into the narrative direction, particularly Paul Atreides’ evolving role.
The storyline continues to explore themes of power, consequence and identity, with the character facing the long-term impact of decisions made in earlier chapters.
