Attock district in Punjab has once again witnessed an alleged police encounter in which two suspects were killed.
According to sources, Lahore CCD Police Station No. 1 had arrested two suspects - Muhammad Muzammil, son of Zafar Iqbal, and Shahzaib, son of Rana Sarfraz, both residents of Sheikhupura - in a murder case registered against Aftab Ahmed, a resident of Multan Road, Lahore.
During recovery proceedings while in the custody of CCD Police Station No. 1 Lahore, both suspects allegedly managed to escape. Later, the suspects and their accomplices had an alleged encounter with a CCD Attock police team led by District Officer Yasir Matloob Kiani along with SHO CCD Attock Inspector Syed Imran Haider Kazmi and his team.
During the intense exchange of fire, both suspects were reportedly killed by the firing of their own accomplices, as commonly stated in such incidents.
Police said the deceased suspects were involved in several serious crimes in Lahore, including murder, robbery and extortion, and were also alleged shooters in murder cases.
The CCD team in Attock has launched a search operation to locate the accomplices of the deceased suspects.
