Nicole Kidman reveals 2026 Met Gala date after Keith Urban divorce

The actress shared the update while discussing her return as a co-chair for the event

Nicole Kidman has revealed that her daughter Sunday will accompany her to the 2026 Met Gala following the finalisation of her divorce from musician Keith Urban earlier this year.

The actress shared the update during the March 11 episode of the Las Culturistas podcast while discussing her return as a co-chair for the event, which will take place on May 4. Kidman previously served in the same role in 2003 and 2005.

“And this is—I think it’s the third time I’ve co-chaired—but to do it now?” Kidman said during the interview. “I’m so, so happy, and my daughter Sunday will be coming.”

Kidman shares Sunday, 17, and Faith, 15, with Urban. She is also the mother of Bella, 33, and Connor, 31, from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.

Speaking about her daughter, Kidman explained that Sunday has developed a strong interest in fashion. “She loves fashion,” the actress said, adding that the teenager had recently appeared at a Dior show. “She’s actually just walked the Dior show. Yeah, she’s flying back from Paris now.”

Despite Sunday’s growing presence in the fashion industry, Kidman emphasised that her daughter’s career path is her own. “It’s her own, whole world and it’s incredible,” she said.

Sunday first stepped onto the runway at the Miu Miu spring/summer 2025 show during Paris Fashion Week in October 2024. She later appeared in a campaign for the brand’s collection and secured her first magazine cover for Nylon’s August 2025 issue.

The young model has previously acknowledged taking inspiration from her mother’s wardrobe. “I take everything from my mom’s closet,” she said in an interview. “I sometimes joke with her that it’s my favorite store.”

Kidman also spoke about the advice she has offered her daughter as she begins working in the fashion industry. According to Sunday, the most important guidance she received was simple: “Always be on time.”

“There’s always going to be something with an early call time that you don’t want to get up for, but it’s really important to be on time because it shows that you’re prepared and grateful to be there,” Sunday explained in a recent interview.

The 2026 Met Gala will see Kidman serve as one of the event’s co-chairs alongside Beyoncé and Venus Williams. The actress said she is particularly looking forward to the occasion, noting: “Well I just get to be there for Beyoncé.”

Kidman’s appearance at the event comes shortly after finalising her divorce from Urban in January following 19 years of marriage. According to their agreement, Sunday and Faith will live with the Oscar-winning actor for most of the year and spend time with Urban every other weekend.
