The legal case relates to an incident that occurred in August 2025 in Los Angeles, when the rapper was arrested and booked at the Van Nuys Jail. Authorities previously stated that officers responded to a situation in which the performer was reportedly behaving erratically.
According to earlier law enforcement reports, the artist allegedly removed his clothing and lunged toward an officer during the encounter. He was later transported to a hospital for medical evaluation following concerns about a possible drug overdose.
Following the arrest, Lil Nas X was charged with four felony counts related to the incident. The rapper has pleaded not guilty to the charges. After the arrest, he also entered an inpatient treatment facility outside California.
If convicted, the performer could face a potential sentence of up to five years in state prison, according to reports surrounding the case.
The hearing marks the latest development in the ongoing legal proceedings involving the Grammy-winning artist, whose career rose rapidly in 2019 with the record-breaking success of Old Town Road. Further court dates and legal updates are expected as the case continues to move through the judicial process.
