Jensen Ackles says filming has wrapped on Vought Rising

Filming for the upcoming Vought Rising has officially wrapped, according to star Jensen Ackles.

Ackles, who will reprise his role as the controversial anti-hero Soldier Boy from The Boys, shared the update in a video posted to Instagram marking the final day of production for the show’s first season.

In the clip, the actor gives fans a brief behind-the-scenes look as he prepares to suit up in Soldier Boy’s costume. Ackles revealed that getting into the character’s armor is no easy task, noting that it usually takes a team of three to five people to help him get fully dressed for the role.

The actor also thanked the cast and crew for their work on the project, writing that he had an incredible time filming the series. In a lighthearted note, Ackles joked that the team behind the show were “a bunch of psychos,” adding that he loved them for it.

Set in the 1950s, Vought Rising will explore the early days of the powerful Vought-American corporation and the origins of the superhuman compound known as Compound V. The series is expected to dive into the rise of the company that would eventually create the superhero empire seen in The Boys.

The prequel will feature a large ensemble cast alongside Ackles, including Aya Cash, Mason Dye, Elizabeth Posey, Will Hochman, Rohan Mead, and Josh Randall.

Ackles is also set to reunite with two of his former Supernatural co-stars, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins. Prime Video has not yet revealed which characters the actors will play in the series.

Meanwhile, fans of the franchise won’t have to wait too long for more content. The fifth and final season of The Boys is scheduled to premiere on April 8, 2026.

While Vought Rising does not yet have an official release date, many expect the series to debut sometime in late 2026 or early 2027.
