A theatre fan attending Daniel Radcliffe’s Broadway performance of Every Brilliant Thing had a memorable experience when the actor borrowed her copy of Heated Rivalry during the show.

The moment was shared on X by a user who explained that Radcliffe needed a book from the audience for a moment in the play and happened to pick hers.

“He needed a book and I happened to have my copy with me so he borrowed it,” she wrote in a reply to her original post. “Yes he did talk about it [Heated Rivalry] on stage and carried it around for a bit doing the show.”

Every Brilliant Thing is an interactive stage production that often involves audience participation, which led to the unexpected cameo from Rachel Reid’s popular hockey romance novel.

The fan later shared a video showing Radcliffe thanking her and signing the book at the stage door after the performance, turning the already surprising moment into an even more special one.

The unexpected interaction quickly caught attention online, delighting both theatre fans and readers of Heated Rivalry, who were thrilled to see the beloved book make a brief appearance on a Broadway stage.
