Protest over killing of suspect by police

The family of a suspect who was killed in an alleged police encounter in Gizri PNT Colony, along with residents of Chandio Village, staged a protest at Punjab Chowrangi.

The protest took place on Monday against the killing of a suspect named Shayan Baloch and led to a major traffic jam in the area, blocking both sides of the road between Race Course and Gizri.

When police attempted to disperse the protesters, some demonstrators reportedly began pelting stones at the police, which resulted in the breaking of windows of several vehicle. Police then used tear gas to disperse the crowd and bring the situation under control.

Authorities claim that the deceased suspect was associated with the Mashori Gang and had been involved in numerous criminal activities across the city.
