At least seven people lost their lives and six others were injured in a series of violent incidents involving gunfire and a traffic collision in Balochistan's districts of Pishin, Panjgur, Wad, and Chagai on Saturday.
In Pishin's New Killi Qila Batezai area, a fierce exchange of fire erupted between two local groups over a long-standing land dispute. A passerby, Qudratullah Kharal, was killed in the crossfire, while three others, Mohammad Hanif, Sultan Mohammad, and Dilawar Khan, sustained injuries.
In Panjgur, unidentified gunmen opened fire, resulting in the deaths of Niaz, Zakir, and Amar Ali.
Separately, in Wadh, unidentified assailants shot dead Amanullah.
A tragic road accident in Chagai district's Padag area claimed two more lives when two speeding vehicles collided. The driver of the Fielder and another occupant died on the spot, while three passengers were wounded.
Upon receiving reports, police rushed to the scenes, shifted the bodies and injured to hospitals, and handed over the deceased to their heirs after necessary formalities. Investigations into all incidents have been launched to identify culprits and determine motives.
These back-to-back tragedies have heightened concerns over law and order in the province, where disputes and targeted killings remain persistent challenges. Authorities have assured thorough probes to bring those responsible to justice.
