The upcoming film follows the success of the 2023 romantic hit, which was based on the novel by Casey McQuiston. The sequel was first announced in May 2024 and brings back Perez and Galitzine as Alex Claremont-Diaz and Prince Henry.
The screenplay is written by the original film’s director Matthew López alongside Gemma Burgess and McQuiston, while Babbit takes over directing duties.
The original story followed Alex, the son of the US president played by Uma Thurman, whose rivalry with Prince Henry turns into a secret romance that threatens political fallout between the United States and the United Kingdom.
