Ali Zafar releases devotional naat 'Sohna Nabi'
Sohna Nabi
Pakistani singer and actor Ali Zafar has released a new devotional naat titled Sohna Nabi, describing it as a humble expression of love and remembrance for Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
Announcing the release on Instagram, Zafar said the project was inspired by a world he feels has become increasingly divided.
"In a time when the world feels louder, harsher, and more divided than ever, hearts still search for light, mercy and compassion," he wrote.
The singer described Sohna Nabi as a tribute to the Prophet's life and message, saying it continues to offer guidance for humanity even centuries later.
"'Sohna Nabi' is a humble naat in love and remembrance of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad. His life and message brought light to a world surrounded by darkness, and even today his example reminds us how humanity can live with dignity, mercy and compassion for one another," Zafar wrote in the post.
Calling the track a personal tribute, he added: "This is my small expression of love and reverence for the most beautiful of creation."
The audio of the naat was produced by Zafar himself, while the lyrics, composition and music production were by Hassan Badshah. The recording features a number of musicians including Aamir Ali on tabla, Taimoor Ali Haider on dholak, and instrumental contributions from Haider Ali and Ustad Tanveer Hussain.
The accompanying video was also produced, directed and edited by Zafar.
Devotional music praising the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) remains widely popular in Pakistan, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, when many artists release spiritually themed recitations and naats.
