Sombr’s apparent on-stage altercation at the 46th Brit Awards was staged as part of his performance, his representative has confirmed to Variety.
The singer-songwriter, nominated for international artist and international song, was concluding his single “Undressed” at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena when a man ran on stage and forcefully pushed him off the platform. Security personnel swiftly removed the individual as Sombr regained composure and returned to the microphone to continue the set.

Shortly after the ceremony, his representative confirmed the incident had been planned. The moment prompted debate online, with viewers divided over whether the confrontation was genuine.
Some pointed to the intruder’s T-shirt, which read “Sombr is a homewrecker”, referencing the artist’s recent single “Homewrecker”, as evidence the incident was orchestrated. Others questioned the severity of the shove and the involvement of multiple security guards.
Host Jack Whitehall addressed the moment on stage, remarking, “Such a shame we didn’t have the security ready.”
Sombr’s appearance at the Brit Awards follows a year of commercial success, with singles including “Undressed”, “Back to Friends” and “12 to 12” performing strongly. He was recently nominated for best new artist at the Grammy Awards.
