Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif plans a visit to Russia on March 3-5, Russian state news agency RIA reported, citing a Pakistani official.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed the visit was being prepared. State news agency RIA said it would happen next week. Pakistan and Russia (former Soviet Union) established diplomatic relations on 1 May 1948.
Both the countries enjoy close, friendly and cooperative relations. For much of history, the two countries have remained in a contained relationship, particularly during the Cold War.
