Security tightened at Punjab shrines, mosques
.

Security arrangements at shrines and major mosques across Punjab have been tightened, with enhanced measures put in place to ensure the safety of worshippers and visitors.
In Lahore and other cities, security has been increased at prominent shrines including Data Darbar, Bibi Pak Daman, Baba Farid Ganj Shakar Shrine, and Shrine of Bahauddin Zakariya, as well as at the historic Badshahi Mosque and other large mosques.
According to sources, walk-through gates have been installed at entrances to shrines and major mosques, and visitors are being thoroughly screened with metal detectors before being allowed entry. Special security arrangements have also been made for worshippers attending Taraweeh prayers during the holy month.
Authorities have imposed a complete ban on the entry of private vehicles into the premises of Data Darbar.
People coming for Taraweeh prayers at the adjoining mosque will also not be permitted to bring vehicles inside the shrine's compound.
Previously, certain visitors were allowed vehicle access with permission from the Auqaf Department, but the facility has now been withdrawn due to heightened security concerns.
Similar security measures have been enforced at other major shrines across Punjab, including Shrine of Sultan Bahu, Shrine of Shah Rukn-e-Alam, and other revered sites.
Security duties are being jointly performed by Auqaf Department guards and district police personnel.
