Three security personnel martyred in attack on vehicle near Chaman
Authorities note similar attacks have previously targeted police and security personnel in and around Chaman

Three security personnel were killed and another injured on Tuesday when unidentified attackers opened fire on a security vehicle in the Roghani area on the outskirts of Chaman, security officials said.
The attack occurred during a routine movement through the area, and the assailants fled immediately after the shooting, according to law enforcement sources.
The martyred and injured personnel were taken to Chaman Civil Hospital, where the wounded official was reported to be in stable condition, they added. Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the attackers.
Authorities noted that similar attacks have previously targeted police and security personnel in and around Chaman. Efforts are ongoing to strengthen security and maintain peace in the region, they maintained.

In a separate incident last week, at least six people were killed when unidentified armed assailants opened fire in the Dastak area of Panjgur district, about 60 kilometres from Panjgur city. The attackers also set two vehicles on fire before fleeing. Police teams launched a search operation, but the motive remained unclear, and no group immediately claimed responsibility.
Balochistan has faced a persistent insurgency for years, with security forces frequently targeted by militants linked to banned groups such as the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Balochistan Liberation Army. The government describes India-backed terrorist groups as 'Fitna al-Hindustan', while terrorists affiliated with the TTP are referred to as 'Fitna al-Khawarij'.
Authorities said intelligence-based operations have been intensified across the province in recent months to prevent attacks on security installations and civilians, amid continued concerns over the volatile security environment.
