Gunmen hijack DC vehicle in Kharan

In a bold daylight incident, unidentified armed men hijacked an official vehicle belonging to the Deputy Commissioner of Kharan district in Balochistan's Kharan area on Thursday, according to security sources and local reports.

The vehicle, part of the Deputy Commissioner's security squad, was en-route to refuel when the assailants intercepted it. They briefly took the squad in-charge into custody along with the vehicle. The in-charge was later released unharmed, while the attackers escaped with the vehicle to an unknown destination.

Upon receiving the report, security forces and police immediately sealed off key areas of the city, establishing checkpoints and launching a comprehensive search operation to locate the stolen vehicle and apprehend the suspects.

The incident occurred amid heightened security concerns in parts of Balochistan, though no group has so far claimed responsibility. Authorities have not disclosed further details about the make or registration of the vehicle or any potential motives behind the snatching.
