Probe launched into girl student's death

Authorities are continuing investigations into the death of a 25-year-old medical student who fell from the third floor of a hostel at Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU).
The deceased, identified as Fareeha, was a final-year MBBS student.
Police said her body was handed over to the family after completion of postmortem formalities and was later transported to Azad Kashmir for burial.
Investigators have taken CCTV footage from the hostel premises into custody for forensic examination.
Statements of hostel residents and fellow students have also been recorded to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident.
Official sources claimed that the student had reportedly been experiencing depression for some time.
University authorities have documented an initial statement regarding her mental health history as part of the inquiry.
