SC orders doctors’ access as users demand proper care, fair prison rights

A Supreme Court-ordered report revealing that incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan’s right eye is now functioning at only 15% capacity has triggered widespread reactions on social media, with journalists, analysts and supporters voicing concern over his health and prison conditions.

The report, submitted by Barrister Salman Safdar after a two-hour meeting at Adiala Jail, detailed Khan’s complaints of deteriorating vision, limited medical attention and prolonged solitary confinement. It also outlined his daily routine and the available facilities in custody.

Following its release, online platforms saw a surge of commentary from public figures and users calling for improved medical care and fair treatment.

Chief Justice Yahya Afridi stressed that Khan, like all inmates, is entitled to equal medical care without preferential treatment, as the court underscored the need to ensure proper health safeguards for prisoners in state custody.
