Pakistan presses IWT case against India at The Hague

ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan has intensified its legal challenge against India over alleged violations of the Indus Waters Treaty, with the second phase of hearings in the Indus Waters arbitration case concluding at the international court of arbitration in The Hague.

The proceedings were held at the Permanent Court of Arbitration, where Pakistan is contesting India's hydroelectric designs and projects on the Indus basin rivers, arguing that New Delhi has exceeded the limits set under the treaty governing shared water resources.

Pakistan was represented by Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, accompanied by Indus Waters Treaty Commissioner Mehr Ali and senior diplomats.
