BLACKPINK's Lisa is set to reteam with The White Lotus executive producer David Bernad on a new romantic comedy being developed for Netflix, marking their first collaboration since her recent acting debut on the acclaimed HBO series.

Lisa, the Thai rapper, singer, dancer and actor, will collaborate with Bernad on the project, which is being written by Katie Silberman, the screenwriter behind Netflix’s Set It Up and the critically acclaimed comedy Booksmart.

The official logline remains under wraps, though sources close to the production say the concept was developed during filming on The White Lotus after Lisa and Bernad bonded over their shared appreciation for the 1999 romantic comedy Notting Hill.

Bernad will produce the film through his Middle Child Productions banner alongside Silberman, who maintains an exclusive multi-year creative partnership with Netflix. Lisa and Alice Kang are attached as executive producers.

The project comes as Lisa continues to expand her acting career following her screen debut as Mook in The White Lotus Season 3, where she portrayed the love interest of a Buddhist security guard. She is also currently working on her first major film role in TYGO, a new instalment within Netflix’s Extraction universe.

Rising to international prominence as a member of BLACKPINK, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, Lisa launched her solo career in 2021 with the single album LALISA. Her debut solo album, Alter Ego, released last year, debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200 and reached number one on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart. She also made her Coachella debut last year.
