VEHARI:

Two proclaimed offenders with criminal records were arrested in injured condition during two separate alleged police encounters in different areas of Vehari district, while four of their accomplices managed to escape under cover of darkness, police said. According to a police spokesperson, the first incident occurred within the limits of Thingi police station.

A police team was conducting routine checking at a picket near 159-WB when two suspicious motorcyclists were signaled to stop.

Instead, they allegedly opened fire on the police. Officers returned fire in self-defense. One suspect was injured by his accomplice's firing, while the other fled.
