Like the rest of the country, Kashmir Solidarity Day will be observed with full enthusiasm in Karachi today (Thursday). A public holiday has been announced across the country to mark the occasion.
Every year on February 5, the government and people of Pakistan reaffirm their solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and express support for their right to self-determination. In this connection, a series of programmes, seminars, ceremonies and rallies will be held in the metropolis and other parts of the country.
Speakers at these events will highlight the history of the Kashmir freedom struggle, pay tribute to the sacrifices rendered by the Kashmiri people, and draw attention to alleged human rights violations and atrocities being committed by Indian forces in the occupied valley.
Through these activities, a message will be conveyed to the international community that Pakistan will continue to extend its moral and diplomatic support to the oppressed Kashmiri people at all global forums. The people of Pakistan, along with the armed forces, stand united with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters and will continue to support them politically, diplomatically and morally.
