KARACHI:

The annual declamation contest for Karachi schools, organised by Jinnah Society, and Karachi Council on Foreign Relations (KCFR) was held on Friday at the Quaid-e-Azam House Museum.

Most conspicuous was a student from Ida Rieu Blind and Deaf School who stood third in the contest. Among 34 schools 10 were selected by judges Akber Merchant and Sara Daniyal. These were The City Intermediate College, DHACSS Phase-VIII, The Mama Parsi School, Habib Girls School, Agha Khan School Morning, Graceful Grammar Campus 1, New-Day School, Ida Rieu Blind & Deaf School, BVS Parsi School, and Al- Murtaza School.

The jury comprised Ghazi Sallahuddin, founder IVS Noorjehan Belgrami and Founder Jinnah Foundation, Naseem Merchant.

The winners were Syeda Fatima Zehra from Mama Parsi with first prize, Raween Abid from Agha Khan School at second and Tousif Ahmed from Ida Rieu Blind and Deaf School at third position.
