Political commentator and livestreamer Hasan Piker has been banned from Twitch once again, marking his first suspension of 2026 and adding to a history of previous enforcement actions on the platform, according to a report by Brad Norton.

Piker’s Twitch channel was taken offline at approximately 7 p.m. PT on January 29, 2026, while he was live on air. At the time of the ban, he was discussing a recent murder in the United States. Although Twitch has not publicly detailed the specific reason for the suspension, Piker suggested on X, formerly Twitter, that comments he made during coverage of the incident may have led to the enforcement action.

As noted in the report, Twitch’s Community Guidelines include examples of prohibited hateful language, including the use of certain terms in specific contexts. Observers pointed out that remarks made during the stream appeared to align with one of the guideline examples, though Twitch has not confirmed this directly.

The duration of the ban remains unclear. Historically, most of Piker’s suspensions on Twitch have been short, often lasting around one day. His channel is currently inaccessible, and no timeline has been provided for its potential restoration.

This is not Piker’s first encounter with moderation on the platform. He has been banned multiple times in the past, including a 24-hour suspension in March 2025, which he later acknowledged stemmed from comments he described as overly hyperbolic. Records from a third-party tracking site indicate that Piker has faced six Twitch bans in total, two of which reportedly lasted a week, with the remainder lasting a day or less.

The situation was first reported by Brad Norton, and further updates are expected as more information becomes available regarding the status of Piker’s Twitch account.
