RAWALPINDI:

A long-standing blood feud stemming from murder cases between two families in village Venus, a prominent suburban area under the jurisdiction of Chountra Police Station in Rawalpindi district, was brought to a permanent end through a grand jirga.

Elders from both families embraced one another, formally ending years of intense hostility. Malik Abrar of Suroba village played a central role in facilitating the reconciliation, bringing together elders, friends, and community leaders from both sides. Among those present at the jirga were Chaudhry Mudassar of Pind Malho, Malik Abrar Suroba, Malik Fayaz Suroba, Malik Azhar, Malik Ahsan, Malik Tariq Patwari, Malik Shoaib, Malik Wasim Suroba, Malik Abid, Malik Abdul Mannan, and members of the Maskin Group, where both communities formally reconciled and declared the blood feud permanently resolved.

National Assembly candidate from Constituency NA-53 retired Colonel Ajmal Sabir Raja, PP-10 MPA Chaudhry Muhammad Ameer Afzal, former Union Council Nazim Kolian Hameed, retired Colonel Nawaz Malik, and other religious, political, and social figures were also present.

Demonstrating generosity of spirit, Raja Rab Nawaz of Venus forgave the murder of his son, Ziaul Haq, for the sake of Allah during the jirga proceedings.
