Angelina Jolie may be preparing to leave the United States, with recent comments and property decisions fuelling speculation that the actress plans to relocate abroad once her children are fully grown.

The 50-year-old has reportedly been considering selling her historic Los Angeles home, which she purchased in 2017 for $24.5 million. The property, originally bought by director Cecil B. DeMille in 1916, became the centre of attention in August 2025 when reports emerged that Jolie was preparing to put it on the market. A source said at the time that she was exploring options outside the US and had “never wanted to live in LA” but remained there due to custody arrangements with her former husband Brad Pitt.

Jolie and Pitt share six children: Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17. The former couple separated in 2016 and finalised their divorce settlement in December 2024 following an eight-year legal process.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in August 2024, Jolie addressed her future in Los Angeles once her children reach adulthood. “I grew up in this town. I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they're 18, I'll be able to leave,” she said. “When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety. I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here.”

She later added that after leaving LA she plans to spend significant time in Cambodia, saying, “I'll spend a lot of time in Cambodia. I’ll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world.” Jolie has previously described the country as being “in my heart” and reportedly owns property there, including land set aside as a wildlife reserve.

Alongside relocation rumours, Jolie has also faced speculation about her finances, linked to the sale of her New York apartment and ongoing legal disputes with Pitt over the Miraval wine estate, as well as trademark issues surrounding her Atelier Jolie boutique.
