The launch of former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar’s autobiography in India, “Controversially Yours”, and subsequent interviews in Indian media created a twitter storm with #ShoaibAkhtar trending globally.

Local Twitterati and Indians tweeters, tweeted their reaction to his statements in Indian media regarding the revelations in the book. Fans on either side of the border have been outraged but at the same time giving the impression that it might become a best seller.

Shoaib Akhtar – “People use chewing gums. Creams. you name it, and they use it.” #ControversiallyYours #ShoaibAkhtar

asif iqbal: “i don’t know who is shoaib’s ghostwriter but i won’t be surprised if he’s indian. and the publisher too.” whatevs, match-fixer.

Sachin Tendulkar says its below his dignity to react on Shoaib Akhtar’s comment. @imshoaibakhtar #cricket

Whenever Shoaib Akhtar writes an application, he concludes by #ControversiallyYours ;p

So far, only one ex-cricketer has (partially) endorsed Shoaib Akhtar’s claims. His name is Sarfaraz Nawaz. #ControversiallyYours

RT @KamranAbbasi: Are people quoting genuine quotes from Shoaib’s autobiography? If so, it’s a book full of typos. #ControversiallyYours

Shoaib Malik doesn’t deserve to be captain & was made captain becoz he was a stooge (Chamcha) of the PCB Chief Naseem Ashraf,” #ShoaibAkhtar

My reaction to shoaib’s statement about wasim akram ” kaha raja boodh , kaha gangoo taili”

Note to Shoaib Akhtar : Self-praise is for losers. Be a winner. Stand for something. Always have class, and be humble.. #ShoaibAkhtar

So stupid of #shoaib akther to admit that he didnt stop tempering the ball in his book #controversiallyYours. :/

LOL #shoaibakhtar RT @fakingnews Venkatpathy Raju should write his autobiography and claim that Inzamam was scared of his (Raju’s) biceps.

@lubnabashir exactly, who the heck cares about shoaib akhtar, let alone his book!

why is every1 aftr shoaib akhtar?sachin WAS afrraid of him till 2003.& then he decided he has to do smthng abt his fears.

@RajneeshKapoor neutrinos are shoaib akhtar of physics. #enoughsaid

Getting tempted to have a copy of ‘Controversially Yours’ by ShoaibAkhtar.

The more you discuss Shoaib Akhtar ‘s book the more money he is making. The book might be not even worth it.

gotta hand it to shoaib akhtar. perfect post-retirement plan: nothing sells like a spicy controversy.

Joke: Shoaib Akhtar has written a book.

Shoaib Akhtar also says Sachin is a great batsman. In the last 3years Sachin has been a complete match winner!

This Shoaib Akhtar autobiography is interesting. Initially it’s a fast read, then it gets fat and then you just want to chuck it.

Dear Shoaib Akhtar, maybe Sachin and Dravid dunno “the art of finishing a match” but they surely know how to finish their career with grace.

Couldn’t take it anymore & called buybooksindia to ask when I’d get my copy of #ControversiallyYours. Forgot its 9:30pm there lol.

    Love you Shoaib!!!

Everything that you are saying is 100% truthful.

When he talks about ball tampering he means keeping one side shiny , the other side rough — all sides do it. The English team is very prodigious at doing it. These days they automatically pass the ball to Cook who rubs the shiny side in very vigourous way against his pants.

Tendulkar is not a match winner. Check the stats on Cricinfo and you will realise that this a truthful statement (number of centurie he got where India ended up losing the match).

Afridi is the most fickle person. You can judge this by the statements Afridi keeps giving against fellow players, againt the PCB, etc., etc. The way Afridi has been playing politics by going to see the Governor of Sindh…

Shame on Shoaib Akhtar. He is not an honourable person. Sachin, Rahul and Waseem are icons of cricket. A person so low as Shoaib is not qualified to talk about these legends.

You are a true Pakistani patriot. If only we had ten more like you, the world cup would have been ours.

An other cheap effort of Shoaib Akhtar to get into news once again. He had never been a reliable person and we don’t put our faith on his statement. We totally reject it. Nonsense

Nothing unusual here. He is just doing what must be done to sell his book. As far as a measure of greatness goes it must be highlighted that yes in the list of great cricketers for Pakistan Wasim Akram stands among the top two (if not number one). Having said that Shoaib definitely makes it in the top 15 and is probably the fifth fastest bowler to ever play for Pakistan. (His stats would have been significantly better had he managed to keep his act together).

He has no right or is he in a position considering his character, personality and his on and off the field mostly despicable activities to criticize or even comment on icons like Sachin, Rahul and Akram.

This would be most absurd book ever published. No player should write such things about other cricketers. The country of Sachin and Sharukh gave him respect, publicity and money but he stabbed them in back. Recommend

I hope everybody knows what a biography is, and hope everybody knows that everyone has a right of speech. What shoaib akhar has published, are his views, he may be wrong and he can be correct. So let him complete his book, everything would be clear and sound.

Well it is known that Sachin hardly ever wins matches for his country. Dravid is known as the Wall. Thats why he usually ends up dropped from ODI’s. Wasim Akram is arguably the best player to ever play for Pakistan. he also deliberately ler ost matches while playing for his country for financial gains so that automatically makes him a bigger low life than Shoaib Akhtar ever was or can ever be.
