ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has suspended the single bench decision imposing fines on police officers in the case related to the alleged kidnapping of children from Lahore and Bahawalpur and a financial dispute involving former PIA CEO Musharraf Rasool.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Azam Khan, after hearing the intra-court appeal, issued a written order.

According to the court order, FIR No. 658 was registered at Tarnol police station on September 20, 2025.

The lawyer informed the court that once the investigation report has been submitted and the case is at the trial stage, the FIR cannot be quashed.

The court was also told that the police officers were not given an opportunity to be heard at the time of the decision.

Terming the points raised in the appeal as arguable, the court suspended the single bench decision and issued notices to the parties for submission of replies.
