Bella Hadid criticises Dolce & Gabbana over lack of diversity at Milan Fashion Week show
Hadid has spoken out after Dolce & Gabbana cast only white male models at their Milan menswear show

Bella Hadid has publicly criticised Dolce & Gabbana following the fashion house’s menswear presentation during Milan Fashion Week.
The 29-year-old model commented on an Instagram video highlighting that the Italian brand cast only white male models for its Menswear Fall/Winter 2026–2027 runway show, which took place on Saturday. Responding in the comments, Hadid wrote, “Shocked people actually support this company still it’s embarrassing. Models / stylists/ casting the whole damn thing.”

She later added a follow-up comment expanding on her criticism, writing: “beeeen cancelled…. years of racism sexism bigotry xenophobia … how are we shocked still ?” Her remarks quickly gained attention, with fans and industry figures debating the issue of representation in high-profile fashion shows.
Hadid has previously been outspoken on social and political issues and has frequently used her platform to call out behaviour she considers harmful or exclusionary. Her comments reignited wider discussion around diversity and accountability within the fashion industry, particularly during major global events such as Milan Fashion Week.
Dolce & Gabbana, founded by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, has faced repeated controversies over the years. In 2013, the designers were convicted of tax evasion. In 2015, they were criticised by several celebrities following comments about IVF and alternative family structures.
Further backlash followed in 2018 after the brand was accused of making racist remarks about China. At the time, the designers claimed their social media accounts had been hacked and released an apology video, which was later deleted.
Despite past controversies, Dolce & Gabbana continues to stage shows at major fashion weeks and attract celebrity attendees. The brand has not publicly responded to Hadid’s latest comments at the time of publication.
