WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis issued arrest warrant in alleged domestic violence case
Miami police seek WBA lightweight champion on charges including battery and false imprisonment

WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis has been issued an arrest warrant by Miami Gardens Police in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident, authorities confirmed this week. According to police, the warrant includes charges of battery, false imprisonment, and attempted kidnapping.
In a statement cited by Sky News, Miami Gardens Police said the investigation concluded that Davis allegedly used force to restrain a victim and attempted to remove her from a location against her will. Law enforcement officials confirmed they are working alongside the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force to locate and apprehend the boxer.
The warrant follows a civil lawsuit filed in October by Davis’ ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossell. While details of the lawsuit have not been fully disclosed, it is connected to the incident that prompted the criminal investigation, according to police.
The development had immediate repercussions for Davis’ boxing career. He had been scheduled to face YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in a high-profile bout on November 14 in Miami, but the fight was called off amid the domestic abuse allegations.
Davis, 31, has held the WBA lightweight title since 2023 and remains undefeated in 30 professional fights. As of now, neither Davis nor his representatives have publicly commented on the arrest warrant, as reported by Sky News.
