LAHORE:

The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Wednesday hosted a 16-member delegation from Uzbekistan to promote trade, investment and industrial cooperation between the two countries. The delegation was led by Minhajiddin Raufov.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the meeting was chaired by LCCI President Faheemur Rehman Saigol.

Welcoming the delegation, the LCCI president said the chamber represents more than 48,000 members across key sectors of the economy. He highlighted the importance of senior-level exchanges in creating avenues for industrial partnerships, knowledge sharing and joint business ventures. He said Pakistan and Uzbekistan share historic ties and complementary economic strengths that can be leveraged for mutual growth.

In his remarks, Minhajiddin Raufov highlighted Pakistan's expertise in textiles, garments and leather, and expressed interest in using this experience to strengthen Uzbekistan's industrial production. The delegation said Uzbek working groups had visited industrial hubs, including Faisalabad, identifying opportunities for investment, joint ventures and industrial collaboration.

The Uzbek officials stressed the need to establish joint industrial and textile units in Lahore.
