Dengue outbreak: 6 dead in Lahore, death toll rises to 75

Six more lives were lost as a result of the dengue outbreak in Lahore, Express 24/7 reported on Friday.
Three deaths were reported from Mayo hospital, whereas, two others died early this morning.

Another patient succumbed to the virus while he was being taken to the hospital for treatment.
Emergency has been declared at all hospitals as people are rushing for the Complete Blood Count (CBC) test.

Moreover, the number of patients in Punjab has passed 8,500, with 7,900 cases reported from Lahore.
According to reports, the number of casualties in the province has risen to 75.
No more uniform
In an attempt to control the outbreak in the province, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has abolished the condition to wear uniforms in schools and colleges for one month.
The chief minister has issued directives to all schools of Lahore to allow students to wear full sleeves shirts of any colour for one month.
Earlier, the Punjab government had closed all the educational institutes for ten days as a preventive measure in the wake of the dengue epidemic.
Educational institutes in Punjab are set to open from Monday, September 26.
