Revered Sufi saint Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA) spread the message of love, humanity, tolerance and brotherhood through his teachings and personal conduct, said Sindh Minister for Auqaf, Religious Affairs, Zakat and Ushr, Syed Riaz Hussain Shah Shirazi.
In a special message issued on the 21st of Rajab on the birth anniversary of the great Sufi saint of the subcontinent, the minister said that Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA) transcended distinctions of caste, race, language and sect, uniting humanity on the basis of love, respect and mutual coexistence.
He said that the shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA) remains a symbol of peace, harmony and tolerance, where people from all schools of thought gather.
He added that the shrine was not only a place of devotion and reverence but also a centre of social reform, unity and mutual respect.
Shirazi stressed that connecting the younger generation with the teachings of Sufi saints was a critical need of the time. He said that the Sufi message provided a strong intellectual and moral response to extremism, hatred and division, and could help promote peace and harmony in society. The minister urged the public to draw inspiration from the life and teachings of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA) and to adopt the values of love, tolerance and brotherhood in their daily lives.
