Frustration is mounting among residents and business owners in the city centre due to an illegal parking at Minara Road slope.
The parking has become a persistent nuisance for the businesses and residents on the bustling Jillani Road, causing heavy traffic congestion, security concerns, and difficulties for patients, students, and elderly individuals.
Locals claim that the frequent roadblocks caused by the parking have resulted in patients failing to reach hospitals on time, leading to increased mortality rates.
The illegal parking also stretches into the local bullion and jewellery market, Sarafa Bazar and the famous Clock Tower, a bustling business hub, where incidents of theft and robbery have become more frequent.
The business community, social, religious leaders and residents are up in arms over the situation, stating that the parking has become a haven for anti-social elements. "We've been complaining about this issue for years, but nothing seems to be done," said Abdul Ghafoor, a government official said on Wednesday.
