Infant dies, two women among four sustain injuries in Rawalpindi fire incidents
Authorities urge residents to exercise caution while handling gas appliances

Three incidents of explosions, caused by gas leakage, and fire in different areas of Rawalpindi have left a three-month-old baby dead and four others, including two women, injured. Rescue 1122 teams provided initial medical aid to the injured and transferred them to hospitals.
In one of the incidents, a sudden fire broke out in a house in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area on Dhimal Road. Upon receiving the information, four emergency vehicles with 10 rescuers immediately reached the scene and prevented the fire from spreading further.
A three-month-old baby was also trapped in the fire and tragically died. Authorities stated that the exact cause of the blaze is still unknown, but a gas cylinder in the room is believed to be a potential cause.

In a separate incident, two explosions due to gas leaks occurred in the Ahmedabad area of Dhimal Road and the Gulrez area, resulting in injuries to four people, including two women. The injured were provided initial medical treatment before being shifted to nearby hospitals.
Preliminary reports suggest that the explosion in the Gulrez area occured when an electrical switch was turned on during a gas leak, while in Ahmedabad, the blast occurred when a lamp was lit in a house experiencing a gas leak.
Authorities have urged residents to exercise caution while handling gas appliances and to report any leaks immediately to prevent such tragic incidents.
