Source outlines reasons behind Ashley Tisdale exit from Hilary Duff mum circle
Source says political differences and wildfire response contributed to Ashley Tisdale leaving her mum group

A source close to Ashley Tisdale’s former circle has claimed that political differences and her response to the Los Angeles wildfires contributed to her falling out with a group of mum friends that included Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore and Meghan Trainor. The claims come after Tisdale publicly wrote about leaving what she described as a “toxic” group dynamic.
According to the source, the separation developed over several years rather than being triggered by a single incident. “It wasn’t an overnight thing,” the source said, adding that Tisdale’s political views “don’t align with a lot of the group members,” which they claimed gradually created distance.
The source also pointed to Tisdale’s response to the LA wildfires in January 2025 as a turning point. “Multiple members of the group were impacted, some worse than others, and Ashley hardly checked in,” the source said, alleging that friends felt she did not offer support at a time when several were directly affected. Mandy Moore was among those who lost property during the fires.
Further claims from the source suggested that some members viewed the friendship as increasingly one-sided. They alleged that the group felt “abandoned” and said it became “impossible to maintain a friendship with her since it was so one-sided.”
The insider also alleged that some of Tisdale’s political comments and social media posts made others in the group uncomfortable, describing the situation as “an extremely toxic dynamic” from their perspective. They further claimed similar issues contributed to Tisdale drifting apart from former High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens.
Tisdale recently addressed the situation herself in an essay for The Cut, titled You’re Allowed To Leave Your Mom Group. In the piece, she wrote about feeling excluded and ultimately choosing to step away after repeated incidents of being left out, stating that the group dynamic “stopped being healthy and positive — for me, anyway.”
