According to officials, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Hassan Waqar Cheema has issued a formal notification in this regard, stating that Section 144 will now remain in force across the city until January 7.
The notification clearly states that all kinds of public gatherings, protests, rallies, processions and assemblies will remain completely banned during this period. The administration said the measure has been taken to deal with any potential law and order situation and to ensure the safety of citizens' lives and property.
Under Section 144, the use of loudspeakers and the display of weapons will also remain strictly prohibited. The administration warned that strict legal action will be taken against violators in accordance with the law.
The district administration has appealed to citizens to cooperate with authorities to maintain peace and ensure full compliance with the orders issued under Section 144.
