BLACKPINK first female K-pop act with multiple songs surpassing 1 billion Spotify streams
BLACKPINK has become the first female K Pop act to have multiple songs exceed one billion streams on Spotify. The milestone was reached with “How You Like That” and “Kill This Love,” according to publicly visible Spotify data.
“Kill This Love” was released in April 2019 as the lead single for the EP of the same name and debuted at number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track played a significant role in expanding BLACKPINK’s Western audience during a key stage of their international rise.
“How You Like That,” released in June 2020 as a pre-release single ahead of BLACKPINK’s debut studio album, The Album, became the group’s highest-charting US single at the time, debuting at number 33 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Both songs have maintained long-term streaming success rather than relying on short-term spikes, underlining their lasting popularity.
Fans and chart trackers highlighted the achievement on social media, with @chartdata tweeting on January 2, 2026, that BLACKPINK had become the first female K Pop act to reach this milestone.
Debuting in 2016, BLACKPINK consists of Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa. The group has set numerous records across streaming platforms, touring, and social media, becoming the first K-pop girl group to headline Coachella and holding the title of the most subscribed music act on YouTube. Each member has also released solo music that has charted internationally.
With “How You Like That” and “Kill This Love” each surpassing one billion Spotify streams, BLACKPINK continues to extend its record-setting run as K Pop’s most globally streamed female act.
