Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson began filming their new movie Die My Love with an unusually vulnerable moment, shooting a nude scene together on their very first day on set.
Lawrence revealed the detail during The Hollywood Reporter’s Actress Roundtable, explaining that director Lynne Ramsay intentionally chose to start production with one of the film’s most intense and intimate scenes. “Our first day on set was a naked scene where we were attacking each other like tigers,” Lawrence said, describing the raw physicality of the moment.
To help prepare for the emotionally and physically demanding scene, Ramsay had the actors take interpretive dance lessons beforehand, though Lawrence clarified they were not nude during rehearsals. She added that tackling the most awkward part of filming right away ultimately made the rest of the shoot easier. “It was kind of nice that it was Day One, ’cause then it wasn’t hanging over our heads,” she said.
Actor Amanda Seyfried, who was also part of the roundtable discussion, praised the approach and joked that removing the mystery early helped eliminate later awkwardness. “If you know what the genitals look like, then you don’t wonder,” she said, a sentiment Lawrence agreed with.
In Die My Love, Lawrence plays Grace, a woman grappling with postpartum depression and emotional isolation, while Pattinson portrays her boyfriend, Jackson. The film blends dark humor with psychological intensity and also stars Sissy Spacek, LaKeith Stanfield, and Nick Nolte.
Spacek has praised the chemistry between Lawrence and Pattinson, calling their scenes together compelling and emotionally honest.
Die My Love has drawn attention for its unflinching exploration of intimacy, vulnerability, and mental health, with Lawrence and Pattinson’s committed performances at the center of the film’s impact.
